What You Need To Know About The Heavy Putter

The Heavy Putter is a revolutionary putter which emerged onto the golfing scene in just the past few years and is the design of Stephen Boccieri of Boccieri Golf LLC.  By adding more weight to the club design, it was noted that there was an improvement in the ability to make a consistent putt each and every time.  The theory behind this is quite simple.  By adding more weight to the club, the body needs to use larger, more stable muscle groups to make the putting action happen.  These larger muscles offer more stability and control to the overall motion.  This as well as a higher center of gravity which brings it closer to the body, it creates a nice, stable stroke. The putter mallet has now been born, and there is now a new Tour Putter for the PGA.

It was at the PGA Merchandise Show in 2005 that the Heavy Putter got the recognition that it deserved and the much needed attention to make it a real contender in the putter market.  The show lead to a surge in orders and soon the company would require a new facility to manufacture these innovative putters as a garage would no longer sustain the demand.Heavy Putter

In May of 2009 John Daly used a Heavy Putter, the Mid-Weight K4 when he tied for second place in the BMW Italian Open.  His choice of putter lead to plenty of attention, which was finally attracted to his game and his clubs rather than his attire!  Not only is it just John Daly that loves the Heavy Putter but other pros like Fabrizio Zanottie also like the feel of a Heavy Putter, especially European players.  Zanotti uses a B2-M Heavy Putter which is one of the earliest models that the company made.

Boccieri Golf makes a number of different putters, with different weights, but not all are as heavy as the original Heavy Putter.  As customers began to ask for slightly lighter putters, the company introduced the MID-Weight Series of putters.  These putters are a good fit in between the original Heavy Putter and a conventional putter and many golfers actually prefer the Mid-Weight Series of Heavy Putter to the original.  Made of 304 Stainless steel it's made with a milled face and availbale in 32 to 36” models.

If you prefer to use a Tour Putter, Heavy Putter makes the C2T-DF Tour Edition putter.  It's handcrafted  with a piece of 303 stainless steel.  With the deep face technology and true temper shaft it will be perfect for players who want a high quality Tour Putter.

Even Putter Mallet have been addressed with the Heavy Putter lineup.  With the Matte Series of putters there's the B1M Mallet, B2M Mallet and B3M Mallet which have either a center shaft, full offset hosel or double bend.

With one of the most comprehensive lineups of putters in the industry along with advanced technology and testing, a Heavy Putter is sure to take a few strokes off your game.
